(1/3/2019) On Jan. 3, 1970, British missionary Gladys Aylward (艾偉德) went to her home in heaven from Taiwan. In the early 1930’s, Aylward and Jeannie Lawson became early practitioners of the Business as Mission model when they opened The Inn of the Eight Happinesses (八福客栈) in Yangcheng, Shanxi, and shared stories about Jesus with travelers. Aylward became a Chinese citizen in 1936 and only returned to Britain when World War II started. She founded an orphanage in Taiwan in 1958 and served there until her death. Pray for Christians working in the business world in China to be wise and discerning, and to walk upright in the ways of the Lord. Hosea 14:9
"Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them;
for the ways of the Lord are right, and the upright walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them."
