On Feb. 20, 1846, pursuant to the Opium War Treaty with France, the Daoguang Emperor ( 道光帝) ordered that the establishments belonging formerly to Catholics be restored to the church. This followed his 1844 edict reversing the Kangxi Emperor’s ban on Christianity. Pray for foreign and Chinese Christians to model repentance and reconciliation to the unsaved. Acts 6:1-7
