In July 1945, China InterVarsity Christian Fellowship held its first student conference in Chongqing. Under the leadership of Calvin Zhao Junying (趙君影) and David Adeney (艾得理), CIVCF eventually had chapters on nearly 80 campuses, and its summer conferences saw many come to Christ. Shortly after the Communist Party took power, CIVCF produced a book entitled “Questions Concerning the Faith”, and 60,000 legal copies were issued in the first six months. In 1951 students were forbidden to take part in religious activity outside registered churches. After the PRC government launched a criticism campaign against Zhao, he and his wife, Faith Zhang Xingchu (張性初), left China. They eventually settled in the U.S. and founded the Chinese for Christ ministry. Pray for the Loving Heavenly Father to be glorified in Chongqing by fruitful ministry among administrators, faculty and students. John 1:1-5
