(7/22/2018)

On July 22, 1921, Helen Xu Hailan (许海兰) and Gui Zhiting (桂质廷) were married in Shanghai. She was the fourth of the six daughters of Rev. Xu Qin (许芹) and Louise Van Arnam (露易丝阿尔南), all of whom became missionaries to China. After earning a PhD in physics from Princeton, Gui returned to China to teach at Christian colleges in Changsha and Wuhan. He was persecuted during the “anti-rightist” campaign and died in 1961. She also taught at Wuhan University and died there in 1995. Pray for educators at Wuhan University to walk with the Lord Jesus and follow in the footsteps of Gui Zhiting and Xu Hailan. Colossians 2:6-7
